The genuine Southern-style hospitality resonated deeply with visitors, making each meal feel like a comforting reunion rather than just another stop on the road. While Rachel Pinkesz noted the strong local vibe might make newcomers feel a bit out of place, she found the kindness of the waitstaff and the quality of the food more than enough reasons to return.

MY GOODNESS! I tend to look for hole in the walls restaurants, especially classic dinners. I'll start with, the customer service reminds me of my time living in NC, so thank you. My husband had the Guy Buster (with biscuits) and I had the "small" country fried steak with a side of their homemade, cinnamon French toast. IT'S DELICIOUS! Sam's small portion, is still so much! It's worth every dime and I love that it was light but hearty all at the same time. I can go on in details about what all went right. It was my first time there, and I'll be there again with the whole family. Thank you especially to the ladies working the front . To the cooks: keep up the amazing work! The French toast was SOO SOFT and the chicken fried steak wasn't crazy breaded and I'm beyond pleased! My husband enjoyed the GutBuster. He said that he loves how the bacon and sausage was chopped small for perfect bite size pieces with the soft biscuit. Thank you for the amazing meal!

The food was really good and homey, the waitresses were really nice and accommodating (I kept changing my mind and they didn't seem to care or make me feel bad about it). The atmosphere was a little weird, it seemed like all the people were locals and we were getting weird stares and felt a little out of place. But it was so minor that I would still go back if I was in the neighborhood because the food and service was worth it.

Passing threw on our way back to Indiana and stumbled upon this place. All I can say is yummmm. Club sandwich and sweet potato fries were great. Service was awesome. Loved the hometown vibe here. You could tell it was a local hangout. 4pm our time so dinner for us.

We had a reuben sandwich today which was the best I've had. It came with a salad bar side. Excellent food. Big tasty sandwich. Full size plate for the salad bar side. Very reasonably priced with friendly staff. I highly recommend it!

Best breakfast I’ve had out In many years, my only complaint is the home fries, the portion was small compared to the average breakfast place. Driving through Idaho thinking this is the potato capital of the country, why not share more of those amazing home fries?

This place is not fine dining with gourmet sauces, fine wines with a high price tag. What it is, is a locals dining relaxed favorite obvious by the crowd. The waitress was delightful and the food was good! (Some of the best salmon i've eaten in a restaurant). It was also very accessible to the interstate and gas stations. I personally like "homey", and Sam's is worthy.

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I came through on our way to Montana and it was exactly the break we needed. The food was delicious and very well made. Prices and portions were both very reasonable! The service was attentive but not overbearing. Definitely worth a stop if you're going along the 90 or you're in the area!
